Description
During the summer school, ten professors of several engineering departments taught, providing an interdisciplinary technical and cultural flavor. After a brief motivating introduction on climate change and resources, the summer school emphasized a variety of the most important renewable energy systems - photovoltaics, wind energy, hydro-electric-power and geothermal energy. Moreover, we discussed materials for energy efficiency, energy storage, power electronics and smart grids as well as wireless communication aspects and security problems with regard to renewable energy applications. Finally, related economical aspects like business simulations and intercultural aspects in project planning completed the program of the summer school.
The side program included excursions that were of technical and cultural interest.
